As the name “standoff mount system” suggests, this type of mount stands away from the wall, therefor, requiring slightly different methods to use during the hanging process. The system usually comes standard with a wall anchor, screw, barrel & cap, the screws are typically specific in size to fit in the barrels provided. This system is most popular with acrylic pieces but can be used for wood or metal framed art.
Step 1: Make sure the weight of the piece matches the hardware provided. Sometimes it’s necessary to increase the anchor system if need be.
Step 2: Using your piece of art as a template, make sure to measure from hole to hole and to be VERY accurate with your measurements as there is very little room for error.
Step 3: Using a drill bit, drill out 4 holes for your anchors. Make sure the anchors are snug in the holes since they stand away from the wall there is more pressure and leverage being forced down on the anchors.
Step 4: Install the barrel to the wall with screw provided, then the piece of art will follow with the cap to complete, if the measurements are accurate then the caps will screw on nice and smooth by hand, completing your install.
