For this blog we will describe how we did a large painting installation for a customer in South Austin. The painting is a whopping 10 x 6.5 feet! (70lbs) and it is to go above an entertainment center at about 15 feet high.
Once we discuss placement with the customer and inspect the hardware on the back of the art we can then begin the first steps to the installation.
First we prep the entertainment center with padding and towels to ensure protection for the customers valuables. Then we had two men on 13 foot ladders on each side of the painting (see pictures below). We had to have a proper angle on the ladders to make sure both installers were involved in lifting the painting equally.
The wall hardware we used consisted of Molly bolts + Mirror Clips that we installed on a 98 inch spread using a laser-level. Once we had our wall hardware securely fastened to the wall, we positioned the painting between the ladders so that we could guide the art up onto the wall in one fluid motion.
